|
|
Noting the lack of authority given to the Sovereign to pursue their goals
Be it resolved:
- The right of the Sovereign to hold office in Parliament shall be restored
- The Sovereign may, at any time, establish committees (be they temporary or permanent) inside the Parliament
- The Sovereign may dismiss any Member of Parliament for disciplinary reasons.
- The Sovereign may, at any time, appoint members of the Nobility to the Parliament to fill vacancies.
- The Sovereign may refuse to allow a member of the Nobility to be seated in Parliament following an election.
- The Sovereign's consent shall be required for the appointment of a Speaker of the Parliament.
- The Sovereign may, at any time, issue a decree suspending the activities of the current Parliament without calling for a new election.
- The Sovereign may, during or before a vote on a bill, immediately veto said bill before the voting is complete thus causing the bill to automatically be rejected.
- The Sovereign may, at any time, issue a decree immediately passing a bill in Parliament before or during the vote on said bill is complete. This will immediately turn said bill into an Act of Parliament that has the full weight of law.

Mr. Speaker,
This is nothing but an attempt by the Prime Minister to assert Royal authority on Parliament. By passing this bill the Prime Minister, a dear personal friend of the Sovereign, would be able to jockey the Sovereign into a position to be what amounts to a high class lap dog of the Prime Minister. I will adamantly oppose this bill for the simple reason that it give too much power to the Crown. However, I will just as adamantly oppose this bill because it will indirectly give more power to the Prime Minister than it gives to the Sovereign. I yield the floor.

Mr. Spaker,
I would like to remind my colleague from the LP that he, as well as I, am a Knight of the Golden Eagle. This alone is a symbol of the Soveriegn's level of trust and friendship to both of us. The argument could easily be made that you would exert as mush influence over his as I, were he to be elected or appointed to Parliament. Your augment against this bill uses flawed logic that holds little to no weight to scrutiny. I yield the floor
