Noting that His Majesty, the King currently is legally able to technically hold public office.

Further noting that His Majesty, the King already holds the most powerful political position in the Kingdom and as such does not need to be able to hold public office in Parliament.

Further noting that His Majesty has expressed no desire to hold any public office in Parliament and therefore sensing no opposition by him to this proposal.

Be it resolved that His Majesty the King be barred from running for or holding a seat in Parliament now or in the future.

Mr Speaker,

I feel that this bill is very redundant. His Majesty has explicitly stated that he has no desire to hold a seat in Parliament. As such I do not see the point of this proposal. I yield the floor

All the votes being in and more in the affirmative than in the negative, the motion carries. The Act to Control the Power of the King to Hold Public Office is adopted.
