Motion to Investigate the Failed Coup of July 2011

Noting the events of July 19th, 2011

Further noting the need to publish a full report on those events and the events that lead to the failed coup

Be it resolved that a temporary committee will be established. Said committee will have as its goal to determine the full events of July 19th, their causes, and their aftermath. The aforementioned committee shall have the power to subpoena any person whose opinion and insight would lead to a better understanding of the coup. Any testimony given for the report shall be exempted from the Sedition Act. The committee shall have no more than one (1) month to gather all relevant information and present it in a published document to the government and the people of Kirkland. The committee shall be headed by His Grace Ronald Drown, Grand Duke of Valoria with Her Grace Sandra Knopf, Duchess of Halmonton as Co-Chairwoman. Together these two will be responsible for the gathering and compilation of all relevant information.

mr. speaker,

i for one, being new to this nation, do not have any clue as to what happened or why. i believe that creating a report on this failed coup will help those of us who are new and people who come in the future to better understand what has happened in this nation. i yield the floor
