Noting the sedition act
Further noting that the liberal partys ideals go against that act
Result the disbandment and preventment of any liberal party
I call for an open vote
I support

Mr. Speaker,
I will second the open vote
I oppose
While certain members of the Liberal Party do advocate positions that seem to oppose the government, the party as a whole does not advocate against the government. I have regularly reviewed the party platform of the Liberal Party and it only advocates the removal of economic restraints upon our people. I will not deny that some of the statements made by certain Liberal Party members seem to speak against the government, however all those statements were made on the floor of Parliament which, according to recently adopted Parliament rules, is exempted from the contents of the Sedition Act. On this ground I do not believe that it is right to disband the Liberal Party. I yield the floor.

Mr. Speaker,
I oppose
My party should not be punished for my actions. The Liberal Party stands squarely behind the Emperor. We do not advocate against the Monarchy or Parliament. Yes, I have made statements in the past that were deemed to potentially be republican in nature. However, I was acquitted of republicanism in the Disciplinary Committee. It is not fair to ban a party simply for the mistakes of it's members. I will point out that since the Disciplinary Committee hearing I have not made any public statements or Parliamentary statements that could be deemed republican so I must say that this proposal is simply a witch hunt against me and my party. I yield the floor.

Mr. Speaker,
I oppose
I do not think we should ban a party unless evidence can be provided that the party itself violates the law. The actions of individual members is not grounds to ban a party, the problem must be inherent in the structure, actions, and statements of the party itself.
